Poor things all seem to have been assaulted by a bronzing obsessive?! Hoping not all Essex-folk have succumbed to permatans and hair extensions..... intrigued ;-)
For any non-Essex-centric peeps - TOWIE = The Only Way is Essex is a really cheesy, really badly semi-scripted reality TV series - or it was the first, last and ONLY occassion I've watched it. Now that that's cleared up. Time to fess up. Whilst I no-likey the programme I LOVE the sentimentality of the slogan.
TOWIE. I loved my time in Essex. I have fond memories of growing up there. It was good to me. Honestly I can't imagine living there now - too much time has past and I just LOVE Londontown too much - plus I like to keep moving forward - but it was a really great place to grow up.
This weekend, post a three hour spinathon in aid of 12in12, I am off back to my childhood roots for some party fun and a trip down memory lane. I have such accomodating friends they're even allowing me to get some power walk training in. They may even join in too - but lets see how the hangovers fare! The proposed route was chosen just for sentimental reasons - starting at Brentwood School - the place where I perfected the art of forgetting all English homework assignments, massacred Latin and Greek, honed my skill for daydreaming/stalking boys (connected?!) , sucked at EVERY sport imaginable and even went to school on a Saturday - EVIL! - along the A12......to the destination of Chelmsford - my hometown for 14 years. This route is special to me - I was ferried up and down this route countless times on the school bus, on the public bus, then latterly I used to drive my sister and I to and from school up and down the A12. I spent hours daydreaming on this route, sitting in traffic, talking to friends, ignoring horrid boys and arguing with my little sister on this route.
It's a journey I've done thousands of times but I've never EVER walked it. How times have changed!! Really looking forward to my trip down memory lane!! xx
